Awesome job mate. The monophonic lead with the slide works really well in the beginning with it adding a bunch of tension without it being annoying like a police siren or anything like that. The drums are mixed pretty much perfect. I can sort of hear the (im guessing) slayer guitar vst. This is actually pretty easy to fix. You can make it more unique by taking off the settings and adding a distortion vst to get a more realistic tone. Fantastic work!

Wow you managed to hear most of the things I put in here.. And in great Detail! I'm quite surprised to meet someone like you in here hahaha.

Thanks for that amazing attention to detail review.

You were correct though, it was indeed the Slayer Guitar VST.

Don't let the harsh ratings get to you at all. I think the song could be improved really easily. First I don't think I would label it Dubstep, maybe just experimental. You show some really good talent with the melody and the rise works pretty well. I think you could get a really nice heavy sound if you had more of a "Umph" in the kick by taking the parametric EQ and taking off some of the top of the drums and boosting the low and mid. The little bell is nice but I think it may be too loud. Sorry if this came off as bashing you, but I really like what you are doing and you should keep it up.

MCFStudios responds:

Thanks! I'm not taking any offense at all. I appreciate any advice to help me improve and learn.

Awesome work as usual. You are becoming one of my favorite users with less than a 100 followers on soundcloud. People need to be subbing to you. I was totally going to dock you points for it being WAY too long... Than I realized it was since It looped perfectly...Only minor complaint is the 44-45 second mark the little crash comes in quiet and almost like a millisecond too early. Then again I just woke up and probably am wrong. So great job.

Noisysundae responds:

Huh? FL itself make the patterns snap to grid. It might be the latency of the mixer channel itself.
Thanks as always man. :)

Very solid composition, pretty and relaxing. Keep it up.

Noisysundae responds:

Thanks very much, man. :D

I love how wonky this track is. It reminds me of something that I cant quite put my finger on. Regardless this is really catchy and shows a unique approach to an almost dance track.

TheCon-Sept responds:

I put in a random script generator for a tune and had to heavily modify the notes and where they hit. When I listened to it I remember there was a time I was so tired, but I had to walk quite a distance to do a couple of errands. And while I was walking.... I was fading in and out of consciousness. So the theme of this song is just that.... Walking around half asleep. Which is why at the end of the track you hear a thump, and then Aw fu-.

Wow. So this type of music is hard to review since technically something could be crap and yet it achieved the desired effect on the listener. I wouldn't say this song is that case, I actually think this song is really good use of noises and sounds that create a great atmosphere (even though it may not be used for normal listening, it would be great in a game). Keep it up.

I like it, it reminds me of the Porter Robinson style of electro on his worlds album. If i may say something that hopefully helps in the future is that when you are using vocal shouts, or any sample which sounds almost to "clean" compared to the rest of the track (which is a good track, and has a good human sound to it) try with messing with the sample. I like to pitch it up/down an octave, and or use some bit crusher on them.

Another thing you may like to do to shouts such as these are add a heck of a lot of reverb, then control the automation of the wet/dry on your reverb to make each sample sound a little more unique. Just my two cents.
Besides that the mix is really good, and the melody is catchy and has good breathing room before each giant synth lead hit. Great job. i was going to give it a 3.75/5 since its almost really really great but the review stars don't let that happen. so i voted a 4 on the side and a 3.5 on here ;)

NevoMusic responds:

Thanks for the review! This was actually really helpful, I'll definitely be trying those vocal ideas. I'm glad you enjoyed this song, and thanks for the good score! :)

I love the space between notes, and how it is a cute pop-like lead in the intro, then the drums come in and it becomes a drumstep/electro song with some great use of sidechain and drums. Only things i would possibly suggest is around 40 seconds the drums although timed great, are all the same volume and velocity which can sound slightly stale. So maybe some slight tweaks in the individual hits would make it more human. Overall the track is great, but a minor gripe is i dont think you need the "hey" sample, but thats up to you. once again this is graet work.

svmmit responds:

thanks for the critique! I really appreciate the feedback. Glad you enjoyed the tune overall. (:

I actually really liked this track. Feel free to let the track breath though. I love the very creepy feeling this track gave me. Keep it up man!

DarkBlueFX responds:

I see what you mean about letting the track breathe, especially at 1:20 and 2:34. Thank you for listening! :D

Circuit Bored is tends to be music that is a bit too experimental for Samurai Dance Party. It often contains real instruments that are played and recorded then broken within the computer. Check out Samurai Dance Party
